This celebration of entities striving to enhance social mobility is especially crucial, considering the UK’s concerning ranking in social mobility amongst developed nations – 12th out of 14 in a recent study.
The awards are organized by Making The Leap, a charity committed to fostering societal change. The SOMOs were the first national awards explicitly aimed at social mobility, intending to raise awareness about the subject by showcasing the pioneering work of progressive organizations dedicated to its improvement.
This year’s shortlist includes a diverse array of industries’ organizations and individuals who have shown a steadfast commitment to advancing social mobility and demonstrated the effectiveness of their initiatives.
