Around 49% claim that sifting through irrelevant emails is a significant barrier to success in their role. This revelation places an urgent emphasis on the need for companies to reconsider their email protocols.

When pondering solutions, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out as a strong contender. Roughly 29% of respondents believe that AI tools will positively impact productivity. The allure of AI rests in its ability to automate manual and repetitive tasks, allowing employees to focus on more meaningful work. A total of 41% expect AI to offer immediate answers, thereby saving time and increasing efficiency.
A Call for Technological Adaptation
“Email is the cockroach of the internet – it simply won’t die,” says Deirdre Byrne, Head of UK and Ireland for a major productivity platform. “Yet, it’s evident that this 50-year-old tech isn’t up to par. Employees are losing a working day each week to unread emails, thus hampering productive work.” She advocates that business leaders should take the helm in embracing technologies that simplify communication and enhance knowledge sharing.
